JESUS IN THE BIBLE

Compiled by Engineer Afsaneh Cooper

Jesus (p.b.u.h.) in the eyes of Islam is one of the five Arch prophets: Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammed (p.b.u.t.) . He is not the son of the God or God. Jesus was not crucified, he disappeared. He is among us but lives in the heaven. He told his followers to follow the prophet of Islam, Muhammed (s.a.w.). Muslims honor and glorify Jesus. They celebrate his birth day not with wine and pork, but with fasting. They believe that none of the prophets of God drank wine or ate pork. If there is any differences between what is called sin in Islam and Christianity is due to the misinterpretation or intrapolation in the Bible. It is necessary to do research on these opinions. If there is a Judgement day, and there is hell and heaven, it is worth getting a second opinion. If Muslims are right, then upon the Holy Quran no religion will be accepted except Islam in the day of judgement. If you are prejudice on your family religion, it will not be an excuse to be forgiven. If you are reading this material, it means that God has given you a chance for salvation. I advice you to accept his message and do the research. It is too late when you are dead!

*** No basis in the Old Testament for Trinity or "God-incarnate".

*** No conclusive statement by Jesus in the New Testament claiming to be God.

*** 5 major grounds for claimed divinity.

1. What was said about him Many were defied without claim on their part. Insufficient ground for such a serious matter. Other earty witnesses did not share the notion of defication.

2a) What was attributed to Jesus as claim of divinity: none conclusive. 1.  The way, the truth (JOH 14:6):  applies to every prophet in his time.

JOH 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

2.  I and the father are one (JOH 10:30): oneness in purpose, not in essence (JOH 17:11, 20-23)

JOH 17:11  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

JOH 17:20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

JOH 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

JOH 17:22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

JOH 17:23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

3.  Seeing Him is like seeing the father (JOH. 14:9): Means knowing as God can not be seen. He was a representative of God on the Earth. (EXO 33:20, JOH 1:18, 5:37, 14:7).

JOH 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

JOH 1:18  No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

JOH 5:37  And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

JOH 14:7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

EXO 33:20  And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

4.   Before Abraham I am (JOH 8:58): All existed in the eternal knowledge of Allah.

JOH 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

5.  Accepted worship (MAR 14:33): worship means also intense love (worship of money,...). Jesus himself did worship God (LUK 5: 16)

MAR 14:33  And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

LUK 5:16  And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

6.  Was called son of God: So was Adam (LUK 3:38), Abraham (JER 31:9), Jacob (EXO 4:22), David (SA2  7:14), Solomon (CH1  22:10). More than one prophet was called "first born" (eg. Abraham, Jacob, David). See for example (PSA 89:27). "Begotten" was used for David in (PSA 2:7). "Only Son" is not used literally in the Bible (GEN 22: 2). "Sons of God" was also used (GEN 6:2, DEU 14:1, HOS 1:10).

LUK 3:38  Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

JER 31:9  They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

EXO 4:22  And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

SA2  7:14  I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

CH1  22:10  He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

PSA 89:27  Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

PSA 2:7  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

GEN 22:2  And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

GEN 6:2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

DEU 14:1  Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

HOS 1:10  Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

7.  Called God "Father" and "Abba" : Said also my Father and your Father (JOH 20: 17). Others may call God "Abba" (ROM 8: 15, GAL 4:6).

JOH 20:17  Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

ROM 8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

GAL 4:6  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

8.  Called Messiah: Means annointed. So was David (PSA 2: 2), Cyrus (Isa. 45:1)

PSA 2:2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

ISA 45:1  Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

9.  Called Savior: So was Jeho'ahaz (KI2   13: 5). Used in plural   (OBA 1:21, and

NEH 9: 27).

KI2 13:5  (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

OBA 1:21  And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.

NEH 9:27  Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

10.  Was called Lord: Term does not mean necessarily God. Used in the N.T. to mean "teacher" or "master".

11.  Was filled with the Holy Spirit: So was John the Baptist (MAR 1:15), Also Saint Barnabas (ACT 11:24)

MAR 1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

ACT 11:24  For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

12.  Said that his words will not pass away: He also said that whatever he said was not his, but the Father's (JOH 14:24)

JOH 14:24  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

13.  Said that all authority was given to him: He who gave authority is Greater (ie. His God).

14. Was called "my Lord and my God" (JOH 20: 28): Could have been an expression of excitement or "you are God-like". Distinction between "Lord" and "God" is made in (CO1  8: 6).

JOH 20:28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

CO1 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

15.  Jews tried to stone him for blasphemy (JOH 10: 29-33): Jews were trying to indict him "by hook or by crook", regardless of what he said. They may have considered him a false "Messiah". Jesus' answer was revealing (JOH 10:34). In (PSA  82:6), humans are called gods, allegorically, Moses was sent as "God" to the pharoah (EXO 7:1). Means representative of God.

JOH 10:29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

JOH 10:30  I and my Father are one.

JOH 10:31  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

JOH 10:32  Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

JOH 10:33  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

JOH 10:34  Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

PSA 82:6  I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

EXO 7:1  And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

2b)  Jesus clearly expressed his subordination to God:

1.  Did nothing on his own authority (JOH 5:30, 14:31, MAT 20: 23).

JOH 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

JOH 14:31  But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

MAT 20:23  And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

2.  Spoke not of his own authority (JOH 14: 10, 8: 28-29).

JOH 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

JOH 8:28  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

JOH 8:29  And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

3.  Said that the Father is greater than him (JOH 14: 28)

JOH 14:28  Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

4.  Was tempted (MAT 4: 1-11): But God can not be tempted (JAMES 1:13).

MAT 4:1  Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

MAT 4:2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward a hungered.

MAT 4:3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

MAT 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

MAT 4:5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

MAT 4:6  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

MAT 4:7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

MAT 4:8  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

MAT 4:9  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

MAT 4:10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

MAT 4:11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

5.  He denied knowledge of the unseen (LUK 13: 32, MAT 24: 36)

LUK 13:32  And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

6.  Was subject to change (LUK 2: 21, 52): But God is immutable.

LUK 2:21  And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

LUK 2:52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

7.  Did not accept to be called good and defered to God (MAR 10: 18)

MAR 10:18  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

8.  Prayed to God (MAR 14: 32, LUK 5: 16).

MAR 14:32  And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

9.  Referred to himself as a prophet (LUK 13: 33-34). Others also called him a prophet

(LUK 7: 16, 24: 19, JOH 6:14, 40, HEB 3:1). Referred to a servant of God (ACT 3: 13, 4: 27, 30, MAT 12: 18)

LUK 13:33  Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

LUK 13:34  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

LUK 7:16  And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

LUK 24:19  And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

JOH 6:14  Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

JOH 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

HEB 3:1  Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

ACT 3:13  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

ACT 4:27  For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

ACT 4:30  By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

MAT 12:18  Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

10.  Made a distinction between himself and the father (MAT 23: 8-10).

MAT 23:8  But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

MAT 23:9  And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

MAT 23:10  Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.MAT 24:36  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

3)  Miracles: All by God's power (JOH 5: 30, 14: 31). All had parallels in the O.T. For example:

JOH 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

JOH 14:31  But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

1.  Born without a father (HEB 7: 3)

HEB 7:3  Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

2.  Fed the multitudes ( KI2  4: 17, 44).

KI2 4:17  And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

KI2 4:44  So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

3.  Walked on water: Similar to Moses (EXO  14: 22).

EXO 14:22  And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

4.  Healed the lepers and blind: So did others (KI1  5: 14, 6: 17, 20, ACTS 3: 7, 5: 15).

KI2 5:14  Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

KI2 6:17  And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

KI2 6:20  And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

ACT 3:7  And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

ACT 5:15  Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

5.  Brought the dead to life: So did others (KI1   17: 22, KI2   4: 34, 13: 21, EZE 37: 1-14).

KI1 17:22  And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

KI2 4:34  And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

KI2 13:21  And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

EZE 37:1  The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

EZE 37:2  And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

EZE 37:3  And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

EZE 37:4  Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

EZE 37:5  Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

EZE 37:6  And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

EZE 37:7  So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

EZE 37:8  And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

EZE 37:9  Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

EZE 37:10  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

EZE 37:11  Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

EZE 37:12  Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

EZE 37:13  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

EZE 37:14  And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

6.  Cast the devils: Said others can too (MAT 7: 22, 12: 27, LUK 11: 19).

MAT 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

MAT 12:27  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

LUK 11:19  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

7.  Rose from the dead: So did others (eg. EZE 37: 1-14).

Verses are in No. 5.

8.  Ascended to heavens: So did other prophets (GEN 5: 24, HEB 11: 5, KI2   2: 11-12). This seems to be inconsistent with (JOH 3: 13).

GEN 5:24  And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took

HEB 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

KI2 2:11  And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

KI2 2:12  And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

JOH 3:13  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

4.  Message of salvation

1.  Assumes initial perfection of Adam and inheritance of sin, which is inconsistent with

(DEU 24: 16), (EZE 18: 20) and (MAT 7: 2).

DEU 24:16  The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

EZE 18:20  The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

MAT 7:2  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

2.  Assumes necessity of bloodshed for forgiveness. This is inconsistent with (HOS 6: 6),

(PSA 30: 5,15: 22-23), (Mat 9: 13).

HOS 6:6  For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

PSA 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

MAT 9:13  But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

3.  Sacrifices by Israelites or by Abraham are irrelevant to the concept of the "crucified God".

4.  Who died on the cross? God never dies and the death of one  man can not atone for all mankind.

5)  Mystery and experience

1.  How different from other religions or even cults? Experience alone is not an indicator of ultimate truth

2.  Difference between plausible but not fully understood matters and self-contradictory and untenable positions (eg. that the finite and the infinite become united).

3.  Why accept man's interpretations if Jesus never claimed to be God or divine in plain words? Where did this "mystery" come from?

Conclusion

1.  O.T. warns against associating others with God in His divine attributes.

2.  Jesus confirmed the same and called the "Father" as "My God" (JOH 20: 17).

3.  Only through the last revelation (the Qur'an) can confusion be removed and pure monotheism be restored.

JESUS THE PROPHET OF GOD

JOH 14:28   Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

MAT 21:11   And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

LUK 7:16   And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

LUK 9:8   And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

LUK 24:19   And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of  Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

JOH 3:2   The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

JOH 6:14   Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

JOH 7:40   Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

Jesus rebukes the Devils

LUK 4:41   And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

Dissimilarities between Jesus and God

God does not become hungry:

MAT  4:2   And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
MAT  21:18   Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
Mark 11:12   And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

God does not become thirsty:

John 19:28   After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

God does not sleep:

MAT 8:24   And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

Luke 8:23   But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

Mark 4:38   And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

God does not become wearied:

John 4:6   Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

God does not groan:

John 11:33   When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

God does not weep:

John 11:35   Jesus wept.

God does not become sorrowful:

MAT 26:37   And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

MAT 26:38   Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Mark 14:33   And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed,

and to be very heavy;

God is not weak:

Luke 22:43   And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

God is not a sinner to be tempted in all things:

Hebrews 4:15   For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Mark 1:12,13   And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

Luke 4:13   And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

James 1:13   Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

James 1:14   But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

God does not become panic-stricken:

John 7:1   After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

God does not walk in fear of the Jews

John 11:53,54   Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death. Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

God does not show a clean pair of heels:

John 10:39   Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

God does not flee in disguise:

John 8:59   Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

God does not die:

Mark 15:37   And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

Romans 5:6   For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
John 19:33   But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

God does not have a corpse:

MAT  27:58   He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

God does not fit in a shroud:

MAT  27:59   And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

The "obituary" of the "late" and lamented "God"?!

Luke 23:47   Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

God is not racist:

MAT  2:2   "The King of the Jews".

JOH  1:49, 12:13   "The King of Israel"
